We chat with MissionImpossible - Dead Reckoning Part One stars gregtarzandavis and Shea Whigham about their characters and working with Tom Cruise:
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One is Ethan Hunt's most dangerous mission yet and will put his entire IMF team in jeopardy. A powerful technological weapon that everyone wants to get their hands on threatens the world. Ethan Hunt will do whatever it takes to keep it out of the wrong hands, including enemies from his past.
Greg Tarzan Davis: My character, Degas, is young, up-and-coming, and rising through the ranks of clandestine service officers. He's tasked with teaming up with Briggs, and he's trying to figure out what is really correct and what's going on. Yes, he wants to do the right thing by the book, but he also questions the moral judgment of who's doing right; who's doing wrong. “Should we do this? Should we not do this?” And it's just asking those questions.
Greg Tarzan Davis: [I learned about] being competent in what you're doing with the stunts. Because obviously, every film he does, he's doing his own stunts and encourages other actors to do them. Flying in the F-18s was about the competency of being able to do it as if you were really flying F-18s all your life or something.
