The closure of Howard Street between Third and Fourth streets right in front of Moscone Center, the main conference site, is expected to cause"significant traffic congestion," from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. through Sunday, Sept. 25, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency said. Traffic can get so extreme during the conference that Caltrans is warning drivers on electronic message signs along freeways entering the city.
For anyone going downtown, the best way to avoid traffic is to ride your bike, or take public transit. There are no impacts to Muni during the conference. If you must drive downtown and don't want to get caught in a traffic tangle, avoid"streets immediately east of Third Street and on Fourth Street between Market and Howard streets during mornings and afternoons," the agency said.
