WATCH THE VIDEO ABOVE: Toowoomba man bashed at taxi rank, now fighting for his life.The victim was “minding his own business” when he was attacked, Detective Inspector Heath McQueen said.Police will allege the 75-year-old North Toowoomba man was waiting at a taxi rank on Margaret Street around 5pm on Monday, when he was pushed from behind by a man, causing him to fall to the ground before his backpack was stolen.

Police are looking for the victim’s backpack, which they believe the alleged offenders dumped near the scene of the incident.An 18-year-old Wilsonton man has been charged with one count each of grievous bodily harm, robbery using personal violence, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and enter dwelling and committing an offence.A 16-year-old local boy has been denied police bail and is due to appear in the Toowoomba Children’s Court on a charge of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
