Netflix has dropped the Griselda teaser trailer for its upcoming biographical crime drama, starring Sofia Vergara.
The video teases Vergara’s transformation into Griselda Blanco, who rose from obscurity to become the Godmother of the crime underworld. The miniseries is slated to start streaming on January 25, 2024.“Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Colombian businesswoman Griselda Blanco, a devoted mother who created one of the most profitable cartels in history,” reads the logline.
The series is written and executive produced by Ingrid Escajeda and Narcos showrunner Eric Newman, with Escajeda set as the showrunner. This marks the Golden Globe nominee’s first major TV project since ABC’s Modern Family had wrapped up its 11-season run in 2020. In addition to starring, Vergara is also executive producing.
Joining Vergara are Alberto Guerra, Vanessa Ferlito, Alberto Ammann, Christian Tappan, Diego Trujillo, Paulina Davila, Gabriel Sloyer, Juliana Aidén Martinez, Martin Rodriguez, José Zúñiga, Maximiliano Hernández, and Julieth Restrepo.
