Gucci’s MilanFashionWeek show, in watercolor
Illustration: Samantha Hahn Alessandro Michele closed out Milan Fashion Week with a surprising — and surprisingly delightful — change of pace at Gucci’s Milan headquarters.
Gucci staples were given serious edge: maxi dresses with sheer panels, granny glasses with thick chains, revealing cutouts, and just plain straightjackets. Even the eyelashes were provocative. Despite the feints toward perversity, Michele’s designs retained a touch of androgyny. All in all, it made for one of the most brilliant shows of the week. Illustration: Samantha Hahn
