A recent theft of over 35,000 pints of Guinness has worsened the ongoing shortage of the popular Irish stout in Ireland. The stolen kegs were destined for pubs during the busy Christmas season, further highlighting the severity of the shortage.
A heist of 400 50-litre kegs of Guinness , equivalent to 35,200 pints, has exacerbated the nationwide shortage of the popular stout in Ireland . The truck, destined for pubs during the festive peak, was stolen from a logistics hub near Daventry, Northamptonshire, in mid-December. A subcontractor working for a company in the Diageo supply chain reported the theft to the police. The whereabouts of the stolen Guinness remain a mystery.
The shortage has been fueled by the stout's newfound popularity with Gen Z, who often share photos of themselves enjoying Guinness on social media. Diageo has intensified its marketing efforts and worked with influencers to raise the brand's profile.
