Two men were wounded in a double shooting in San Francisco's Lower Nob Hill neighborhood on Wednesday, officials said.The San Francisco Police Department said in a report that it was dispatched to California and Polk streets at 7:34 p.m. and found one man lying on the ground and another inside a business. Both men were injured by gunfire and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
Later that night, across the bay in Oakland, a homicide occurred on the 1300 block of 86th Avenue, police said. At the scene, police found a man with gunshot wounds. Paramedics arrived shortly after and provided life-saving measures, but these failed and the man died. The deceased was a Hayward resident; police said they are not releasing other details on the victim until next of kin has been notified.
