The pop star has left the program to focus on an upcoming album after six years in the role.
Sebastian, who has been a coach on the popular show for six years, announced to his Instagram followers on Wednesday afternoon that he was leaving the “best gig ever”.“I have made the decision to take a break from the best red chair on the planet,” he said in a post.
Sebastian, who shot to fame after winning the first season of Australian Idol in 2003, said he was planning performances in Australia and abroad to showcase an upcoming album, which he said had been four years in the making.
