Hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of e-bikes have been destroyed in an early-morning ram raid and fire at a business in Melbourne's inner suburbs - and the shop wasn't even the intended target.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of e-bikes have been destroyed in an early-morning ram raid and fire at a business inbelieve a group of offenders used a stolen black BMW X5 to ram the garage door of a cycling business on Lygon Street in Brunswick at about 2.55am.
However, police have told 9News it was actually the gym upstairs, Power Gymnasium, that was being targeted. After the ram raid, the group set the car on fire, with one of the offenders accidentally igniting his own arm before the group was seen by witnesses running off towards Nicholson Street.
