Supermarket fashion, household items and gifts in red and white debuted in Kerrville last month. T-shirt reads, “Texas Born, H-E-B Fed.”
The Texas-based grocer has added brand gear shops to its Frisco and Plano stores stocked with H-E-B-themed merchandise. There are T-shirts that read “Texas Born, H-E-B Fed” and socks imprinted with “I love my H-E-B.”
There are 60 items to choose from, including baby clothes, hats, coffee mugs, toys and stickers that profess love for H-E-B’s Meal Simple brisket queso. The mix includes shoes that are likely to sell out as fast as a 5 p.m. batch of hot tortillas. What serious fan wouldn’t want black sneakers trimmed in red and white with shoelaces stamped with a repeating red H-E-B logo?
The first H-E-B fan shop opened in mid-November in Kerrville, where H-E-B was founded in 1905. The Plano and Frisco stores’ fan shops are the second and third, but more are planned, the company said. It’s not a stretch to open the in-store shops in North Texas, where the brand says it had record numbers of shoppers for an H-E-B grand opening. The Frisco store opened in September, and the Plano store opened Nov. 2.Customers in Kerrville select items from the first H-E-B brand shop. Two more opened this week in Plano and Frisco.The retailer said Monday it plans to take its H-E-B merchandise to more stores next year.
