This comes after the union claimed that HACC threatened to call the police and pursue legal action against its own employees if they engaged with union activities. In April of 2022, the faculty voted overwhelmingly for union representation. Since then, they say the college has taken steps to deny them the union rights for which they voted.The more than 250 professors who belong to the HACC education association are seeking fairness and respect—and what they're getting from HACC's administration are threats and bullying tactics.
A spokesperson for HACC said in a statement to CBS 21 that "the college looks forward to continued negotiations to better serve our students and communities."
