The US actress has yet to comment on claims she was ‘physically abusive’ towards their son.
Halle Berry faces shocking allegations from ex Olivier Martinez in bitter custody dispute over their son Maceoex-husband Olivier Martinez has accused the actress of “physically abusing” their son as he fights to gain sole custody of the 12-year-old.
Martinez and Berry were married in 2013 but separated two years later. Their divorce was finalised in August 2023, following a long legal process regarding custody and support. Martinez has also requested a temporary restraining order against the Crime 101 star, alleging Berry caused him “emotional and mental distress due to physical abuse of our minor child, Maceo”.
In the filing, Martinez made explosive claims about how Berry “physically abused our son, Maceo, by jumping on him, putting her hands around his neck, and choking him”.
“While the September 26, 2026, incident in which Petitioner choked our son is the latest incident of abuse, I contend that there have been other instances of abuse over the course of the last few years,” the filing alleges, according to People. “These other incidents involve additional physical attacks against our son, as well as verbal and emotional abuse from Petitioner to me.
”According to the filing, Maceo called his father on September 26 and asked him to pick him up, alleging Berry had “physically attacked him”. Your cookie settings are preventing this third party content from displaying. Martinez further alleged Berry “downplayed the incidents, claiming she was joking or just playing with him”. As part of the agreement, the former couple reportedly agreed to share joint legal custody of Maceo, while Berry agreed to pay Martinez $US8,000 a month in child support.
In May 2024, court documents showed Berry and Martinez also agreed to undergo “co-parenting therapy” with a coach to “resolve disputes and conflicts between them in an effort to successfully co-parent” their son. At the time, there were reports differing parenting styles had made co-parenting difficult for the former couple.
