John Rankin is looking to shore up his defence, due to injuries

Hamilton Accies boss John Rankin is still looking to add to his squad, despite signing striker Nikolay Todorov and winger Daire O’Connor in the last week.

The Accies gaffer reckons he’s building a good squad, with a clear identity, and wants to continue that. “I think you can see we have plenty of attacking options now. With Fergus’ injury that causes us a wee bit of an issue, so we’ve got our eye on lots of things, and hopefully we can press the button on them at some point.

Former Ayr United winger O’Connor, 27, joined from Glentoran on Tuesday and went straight into the squad for the 2-1 Premier Sports Cup defeat at home to Ross County, which has left Hamilton’s chances of progression hanging by a thread as they head to Raith Rovers on Saturday.
