Lewis Hamilton could quickly go from cheers to boos in the space of a week

The Mercedes driver joined the top three with a breath-taking move heading onto the Sir Lewis Hamilton straight, going three wide to take third place from a wheel-to-wheel Charles Leclerc and Sergio Perez.

The duo went two wide into Copse corner at full pelt before Hamilton made the move stick on the Hangar Straight to claim third place. In the 2021 edition of the British Grand Prix, Hamilton also headed into Copse side-by-side with title rival Verstappen, and the two collided, with the Dutchman’s rear wheel tagged, sending him into the wall at 51G.

Verstappen was booed at the weekend by sections of the home crowd, and the tables could now be turned after comments from Hamilton post-race.
