“The film is on illegal abortion, but it’s also mainly the story of a very young girl in the 60s in France trying to be free,” says Director Audrey Diwan at Deadline’s Virtual Studio at Sundance. “The main purpose of the movie was not watching at her but trying to be her through that process.”Anamaria Vatolomei to discuss the film. “When I first read the book and the script,” says Vartolomei.
“I like how [the film] portrays a young lady in a very right way,” says Vartolomei. “I think I would love the young ladies and the girls that are seeing the movie just to nourish themselves from the determination, the audacity, and maybe the confidence of my character and try to put that in themselves.”
