Sally the Sheep's amazing recovery has been celebrated by people all over the world, touching millions of hearts, after a video documenting the recovery went viral online.
When Sally first arrived at Edgar's Mission Farm Sanctuary in Lancefield, north of Melbourne, she was so emaciated, parasite-riddled and weak that she could not even lift her head, let alone stand up.Sally the sheep was very neglected when she arrived at Edgar's Mission. The team at Edgar's Mission worked "tirelessly throughout the days and nights making sure all Sally's needs were met", founder and director Pam Ahern said.
"This included nourishing her body, daily rehabilitation sessions in her sling, exercising her once limp limbs, hand-feeding her the most succulent pieces of grass, and ensuring she was comfortable," Ahern said.Sally is now able to live in a field with other sheep without the need for intensive care.Sally had to be taught to walk again.
