A security camera recorded a masked man wearing medical gloves peering into Ralph Rodriguez's nonprofit office early Saturday on Berryhill Street in Harrisburg.
Ralph Rodriguez, Harrisburg City Councilman, confronts an unknown man standing outside All You Can, Inc., Rodriguez's nonprofit charity at around 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Rodriguez drew his gun and has a concealed carry permit, but no shots were fired.Ralph Rodriguez has spent the past decade pouring his heart and soul into All You Can Inc., a nonprofit charity in Allison Hill, that focuses on helping locals.
“I need you on the ground,” Rodriguez said three times with his gun drawn and pointed at the man, according to video recorded by his wife.He repeated that three times. The masked man seemed more sophisticated than a run-of-the-mill burglar stealing to eat or pay a bill, Rodriguez explained. He spoke in an articulate voice, wore blue nitrile gloves and seemed to be “casing” the building, or looking for ways to break in. At one point, he approached camera on the building and placed his hand over it.
Just before they arrived at their non-profit building, they heard a loud “thud,” like someone was trying to kick in a door. When they approached, they saw the man on the right side of the building trying to get in a window, Rodriguez said.
