Britain is hardly holding its collective breath as it awaits the arrival of Prince Harry next week, making his first visit to his homeland since giving evidence in his phone hacking case against Mirror Group Newspapers in June
That's a shame really, because Harry’s visit, though as brief as his previous recent visits, will be for an entirely praiseworthy purpose : presiding over the WellChild Awards - a charity he has supported for fifteen years that looks after seriously ill kids and their carers.
His complaints about his alleged but implausible ill treatment at their hands darkened the last months of his grandmother Queen Elizabeth’s life, and the embarrassing revelations in his self-pitying autobiography ‘Spare’ seem to have made his self-inflicted estrangement from his family permanent. Prince Harry debuted his new Heart of Invictus Netflix documentary series this week. Picture: Netflix.
