A new video breaks down all the trick arrows shot by Clint Barton and Kate Bishop in Hawkeye
Hawkeye’s VFX team explains how they created all of Clint Barton and Kate Bishop's trick arrows in a new video. Marvel Studios’ latest Disney+ series saw Renner reprise his role of the titular, arrow-slinging Avenger alongside Hailee Steinfeld’s superfan/protege Kate Bishop. The show’s cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d'Arcy James, Alaqua Cox, Florence Pugh, Linda Cardellini, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
Inspired by the Matt Fraction and David Aja comic, My Life As A Weapon, Hawkeye followed Clint and Kate as they came into conflict with the Tracksuit Mafia, Maya Lopez/Echo , and, in its final two hours, “Uncle” aka Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin himself . In line with Marvel Studios’ other shows, Hawkeye’s production value was comparable to the silver screen MCU, featuring a ton of action and top-tier special effects.
In episode 3, “Echoes,” Clint and Kate hijacked a car and, in the subsequent pursuit, raced through New York while Kate fired trick arrows at the Tracksuits. Hawkeye's car chase sequence featured everything from putty arrows and exploding arrows to, of course, arrows that make things really big. In the wake of that encounter with the Tracksuits Mafia on the bridge, Clint had exhausted his stash of trick arrows.
Hawkeye is all about the holidays—from Christmas trees to ugly sweaters. On top of that, Clint and Kate’s chemistry and antics hearken back to holiday classics like Lethal Weapon and Die Hard. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has said that he hopes Hawkeye will become a Christmas classic itself that is revisited year after year. While time will tell if it becomes classic, the series certainly evokes holiday cheer.
