Hawthorn legend Shane Crawford is set to make his theatre debut in the Melbourne season ofthe musical comedy written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber.
“Let’s cast performers in these roles, people who work, train, sacrifice and give their lives to the arts,” added comedian Tanya Hennessy.Crawford’s casting felt frustrating but familiar. For a newcomer like Benoit Vari, who recently completed three years of full-time training at the prestigious Victorian College of the Arts, Crawford’s casting paints a bleak outlook for a new graduate.
