Carlton captain Patrick Cripps declared gun teammate Sam Walsh has been “jumping around the club” and needs only to get through training this week to play his first game for the season in an extra boost to the undefeated Blues.
He was named the player of the finals in 2023 and after an injury-hit pre-season a Carlton gun is ready to go.
That approach has paid dividends, with Cripps declaring Walsh, who had previous back surgery, was flying and set to return to the field against Adelaide at Marvel Stadium on Saturday night.“He’s jumping around the club yesterday, I’ll tell you that much. He’s up and about. “To be 4-0 with him missing and also Weitering missing too puts us in a good position. It’s a good time to get rolling because we’ve got a tough challenge against Adelaide this week and then a really good schedule against the best teams.”
