Pacific Championships: Joseph Tapine has scored one of the tries of the rugby league season during New Zealand's Pacific Championships clash with Tonga.

England have swept the series against Samoa with a 34-16 win at Headingley in the second of two Test matches.

England’s 2-0 series win over a plucky Samoa sets up what should be a stellar three-match series against Australia next year.Samoa started hot, scoring the game’s first try through Storm back rower Shawn Blore, set up by a smart Jarome Luai kick.England would made the visitors pay in the 23rd minute when winger Liam Marshall crossed.

They would be helped by a sin bin to Samoan outside back Junior Pauga, with the home side scoring two tries with the numbers advantage. “The difference today was Herbie Farnworth. He was brilliant. In the two games, he was the player who stood up,” Gardiner said while Wane said: “Herbie Farnworth has been the standout in the series and he’s a really good person and professional and a credit to the NRL.”
