The extra weighting for Test votes proved to be the deciding factor in Sutherland's favor, marking her first victory in any of the top women's categories – the Belinda Clark award, the one-day international, or the T20 international player. He garnered 208 votes for the Border Medal, comfortably ahead of Josh Hazlewood with 158 votes and Test captain Pat Cummins with 147. Ellyse Gardner secured 143 votes, making her a two-time winner, while Beth Mooney trailed closely with 115 votes, also a two-time winner. Notably, none of the top male winners were present at the ceremony due to their ongoing tour of Sri Lanka. However, the women's team celebrated their dominance in the Ashes series. Adam Zampa and Beth Mooney were recognized as the top T20 international players, while Gardner took home the women's one-day award, and Hazlewood received the men's Test honor.
