New locally acquired cases of an infectious disease has prompted health authorities in one Australian state to urge thousands of at-risk residents to ensure they are fully vaccinated.
An infected person can develop symptoms up to 21 days from exposure, including a rash, swollen lymph nodes, fever, chills, tiredness, muscle aches and sore throat. The rash can cover any part of the body including the genitals and feature fluid or pus-filled pockets of tissue.Residents should get tested immediately if symptoms develop.
