Sporting superstars Ash Barty and Shane Warne were also among those who were appointed Officers of the Order of Australia, while a number of past politicians were also up for gongs. Of the 669 appointments to the general division of the Order of Australia, 45.9% were awarded to women – the second-highest proportion given, slightly down from the 47% awarded in this year’s Australia Day honours.The youngest recipient of any award was 23 and the oldest was 101.
