The health service wants a balanced operating position by June, which Jarrod Bleijie says has raised red flags among staff."It's absolutely concerning and is in line with whistleblower nurses who have contacted me to tell me that services will be impacted," Mr Bleijie said.
"There are no plans to reduce the services at our facilities. We are continuing to increase the services our communities need including cancer care, surgery, and outpatients."A Queensland Health spokesperson said it was working closely with the Sunshine Coast Health Service to understand and find solutions to address its "distinct operational challenges" including the impact of national staff shortages.
Mr Bleijie said there had been calls for a fairer, 50:50 health funding split between federal and state governments for some time.
