Roland Lebrun, 69, pleaded no contest to criminal threat charges after he was accused of making shooting threats at a Valley Transportation Authority meeting Dec. 9, 2021.
, during which time he would not be able to participate in any VTA meetings. Some VTA employees and committee members present at the meeting received temporary protection orders from the Santa Clara County Superior Court.
“We take the safety of our employees very seriously, and we want to protect them from anything that even is remotely looking like a threat to them,” VTA spokesperson Stacey Hendler Ross said. “The employees that were taking part in the meeting where Mr. Lebrun made this threat are still very scared, so it’s a serious situation.”
“I think they need to get some tougher employees if they’re scared because someone gets a little carried away at a public meeting,” the attorney said. “Mr. Lebrun was not threatening anybody; he was probably the most harmless person I’ve represented in a long time.”
