The family of Mr Nellist – who grew up in the west Cornwall village of Ludgvan – released a tribute to him on Saturday. "Simon was a gentle, kind and wonderful human being. He was a cherished fiancée, son, brother, uncle and friend," they said. Mr Nellish – who had emigrated to Australia and was living in the Wolli Creek area of Sydney with his fiancée Jesse – was also described by his family as a “proud Cornishman”."Simon had a great passion for nature and the sea, as well as being a very talented photographer,"
