This round of smoke arriving in the Hoosier state is different than what the Midwest saw a few weeks ago. This time the smoke is coming from western Canada thanks to an upper-level low that is spinning in central Canada.
A few widely scattered showers and a thunderstorm will be possible in central Indiana through midnight. Otherwise, skies clear out overnight. It will remain humid overnight, holding temperatures from dropping much. Lows will be in the mid-60°s Sunday morning.
You will start to notice the haze appear in the skies over Indiana starting at sunrise Sunday. High-resolution computer models suggest the smoke concentration will increase through the morning, peaking mid-afternoon. An Air Quality Alert has been issued for all of Indiana. The alert is in effect from 12 a.m. Sunday through 12 a.m. Tuesday.
