After a mild and sunny day yesterday, temperatures will dip today in our region. After a largely cloudy start, heavy showers are then forecast through the afternoon.
According to Met Office forecasters, temperatures will only reach a high of around 14C today. The heavy rain is expected to continue through the night and into the early hours of Saturday morning.Saturday is predicted to be another cooler day with the mercury again reaching highs of 14C. Conditions are expected to be mainly overcast throughout tomorrow.
On the overall forecast for the Bank Holiday weekend for the UK, Met Office forecasters said 'unsettled' weather is expected. Deputy Chief Meteorologist Mark Sidaway said: "There continues to be uncertainty around the track of a low-pressure system which is expected to cross the southern UK this weekend, meaning there is some uncertainty about some of the forecast details.
"While it will remain unsettled with further showers or longer spells of rain, all areas should see some drier conditions at some point and, in any sunshine, it should feel quite warm.
