A 58-year-old man involved in a shooting at Donald Trump’s Florida golf course has had his charges upgraded after it was revealed he wrote about his plan to kill the former US president months before the incident.
Ryan Routh was arrested earlier this month after fleeing the scene of a shooting at the Trump International Golf Club on September 15. The North Carolina native had hidden in the bushes near the golf course with an AR-style rifle when Secret Service agents securing areas ahead of the Republican candidate spotted him and opened fire.
