A California man has been charged in Utah's 3rd District Court after allegedly fooling a Utah County man into paying him for a movie that was never made.
PARK CITY — A California man who allegedly solicited $100,000 from a Summit County resident to make a movie but then never made the movie and never refunded the money is facing criminal charges.
In October 2021, a Summit County resident was introduced to Windham through his agent, according to charging documents. Windham asked the man to invest in the film "Made Guys II." In October and November of 2021, the Summit County man made two transfers of $50,000 each to a bank account with the name "Capital Pictures Inc.," the charges state. The movie was supposed to be completed by June 30, 2022, and the man was promised gross receipts from the film, an executive producer credit and would be given a guest appearance in the movie, according to the charges.
