People living in the area reported hearing 'loads of sirens' before a police helicopter was spotted circling above
A helicopter was seen circling over a beach in search for a high risk missing person with police, the coastguard and ambulance service also at the scene.
The alert was raised shortly before 7pm last night and emergency services quickly descended onto Ainsdale beach to carry out a search. Residents living nearby reported hearing "loads of sirens" and a police helicopter circling above the area. Eyewitnesses told the ECHO that a drone was also seen in the air as Coastguard officials walked along the beach and over the sand dunes. Police later confirmed they were responding to an ongoing incident in relation to a high risk missing person.A force spokesperson said the incident is of no concern to the wider public. An eyewitness said they saw somebody being put into the back of an ambulance near the beach just moments after the police helicopter left the scene.
