Cities and organizations across Los Angeles County will host luncheons, dinners and food distributions this week for those in need of a Thanksgiving meal.Here are some upcoming food distributions and other events throughout the Southland. The first 500 people will receive a gift card as well. The event is at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, at the South Pavilion Mall, 20700 Avalon Blvd. Bring a recent utility bill or other proof of Carson residency.Unified Compton presents “A Day of Thanks” Giveaway, a food giveaway and ecumenical gathering serving 1,000 families. Compton residents only. Must show proof of residency. The event will be at City Hall, 205 Willowbrook Ave., at 9 a.m. Sunday, Nov.
