The South Australian Labor government has handed down its first budget since being elected in March.
$65.4 million over four years to recruit more than 100 doctors and 300 nurses with 24 doctors and 102 nurses to be funded in the first year That includes $30.3 million over three years to the new Women's and Children's Hospital, which is still expected to be completed in 2027Included in the government's 326 new beds are 72 metropolitan mental health beds at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Modbury Hospital and Noarlunga Hospital at a cost of $157.8 million over four years
