“That guy got a very good deal, but it’s going to a really cool collection and an avid Hot Wheel collector,” Rawlings toldHe also sold a 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo for $48,000 with just 25,000 miles on it. The car, finished in Aztec red over charcoal cloth upholstery, will go to the Netherlands, Rawlings said.
Another car going outside the U.S. is a modified 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback K-Code 5-Speed vehicle that Rawlings has owned since January 2016. It sold for $75,000 to a buyer in the Cayman Islands. The cars will slowly leave Gas Monkey Garage over the next several weeks. The first two came off the lot today, Rawlings said. Now starts all the paperwork, he added, and “off they go.”
