There's something for everyone to enjoy
There's a 'hidden gem' in Lancashire with its own 'beach', play area and pub that's waiting to be discovered.
Leisure Lakes is a campsite located just off The Gravel in Mere Brow, Preston, and has something for everyone to enjoy. The picturesque hideaway is spread across more than 300 acres of countryside and allows people from far and wide to come and visit. It offers several activities for visitors, from its huge fishing lake and jet ski centre to a section of sand where people can sit and sunbathe, as well as the Western Frontier pub. There are quiet spots for bird watching, nature walks, and cycle tracks as well as places to enjoy a picnic, play, or relax in the countryside or by the water’s edge. There is an outdoor adventure play area and an indoor soft play centre named Jollie's Play Barn close by too.
There are also motocross tracks which allow visitors to practice their skills or learn how to ride a bike safely while still having fun. Leisure Lakes is a hit on the review site TripAdvisor, with many people calling the destination a "hidden gem". One person said: "After being let down by another site I was over the moon to find that they still had room at 1.30pm on a bank holiday weekend! We live in Skelmersdale so I didn't realise what a hidden gem we had so close to home."
