A 51-year-old man has been charged by police after a secret drug lab allegedly producing meth and 'magic mushrooms' was uncovered in the garage of a Brisbane home.
The discovery was made last Saturday at a Tarragindi property, after it was searched by detectives from the Synesthetic Drug Operations Unit. "Based on the items and chemicals located, it will be alleged the lab was used to produce methylamphetamine and psilocybin ," police said.
More images show a cut-out in the wooden floor boards of living room, which police allege is the trap-door. A ladder can then be seen on the other end once it is opened. "I think of interest in respect to this particular lab is not only the trap-door which led to the production area, but also, when you see the footage, is the number of chemicals, the condition of that lab and that lab environment where these drugs are allegedly being produced," he said.
He said this latest arrest was another example of the dedicated work underway by police to take"dangerous and highly-addictive drugs" off the streets and keep the community safe.
