Harrowing video shot by a San Antonio driver shows Texas Department of Public Safety troopers shooting at a vehicle following a high-speed chase Thursday afternoon.

A high-speed chase with Texas DPS troopers ended in a shooting on U.S. 281, near TPC Parkway, Thursday afternoon.

Three people were arrested by troopers. While their identities have not been released, they face charges of burglary of vehicles, evading arrest and aggravated assault. At about 1:30 p.m., troopers saw three suspects breaking into vehicles at South Park Mall before they fled on U.S. 281, media reports said. When troopers attempted to pull them over, the suspects sped away.

Troopers pursued the vehicle to U.S. 281 and Loop 1604 before the suspect’s vehicle rammed into a DPS vehicle. Despite the crash, the suspect’s vehicle tried to escape, prompting troopers to shoot at the car to get it to stop. In the roughly one-minute video, vehicles behind the crash scene are seen stopped on the busy road as a DPS trooper has his gun raised toward a vehicle off-screen. Three shots can be heard before a car engine revs and starts smoking and troopers fire at least seven more shots.

In the video, the suspect's silver vehicle can be seen trying to escape one more time, swerving toward the concrete barrier as three more shots are heard.
