A historic deal has been struck by almost 200 countries at the UN summit COP27 to establish a fund to help poorer nations cope with the impacts of climate change.

“It is the parties who must rise to the occasion and take upon themselves the responsibility of finding the areas of convergence." “The 1.5°C figure is not some random statistic,” Secretary-General of the United Nations World Meteorological Organization, Petteri Taalas recently said.
