Historic racism allegation rocks Rugby World Cup host
Just as France should be celebrating the arrival of the 2023 World Cup, the host team has been rocked by the resurfacing of a historic racism scandal.
Chalureau, who was playing for Toulouse at the time, admitted to the violent attack on fellow rugby players Yannick Larguet and Nassim Arif Some politicians have demanded Chalureau be removed from the squad, while others believe the appeal process should be respected. “I wanted to come out in public and address all my teammates, my family … as it does not just affect me, it affects my family.“I am not a racist, I bring people together. The beauty of rugby is it brings together people from all communities,” he added, in tears.
