A cyclist is fighting for life after he was left on the road by a hit-and-run driver in Melbourne’s Fitzroy North. 7NEWS
The driver of the car allegedly assessed the cyclist on the ground before getting back into his car and driving away.
The 30-year-old male cyclist was riding along Brunswick Street, just before the Fitzroy Bowls Club, when he was hit by a black car at 3.15am on Monday, April 3.He sustained serious injuries in the accident and was later transported to hospital, where he remains nearly two-weeks later in a life-threatening condition.
“The driver, who was believed to be the sole occupant of the vehicle, parked away from the scene before walking back to take a look at the injured cyclist and then driving away,” Victoria Police said.Police have released an image of the suspect in a public appeal for assistance.
