People could receive more than £100 every four weeks
HM Revenue and Customs has warned certain people "don't forget" as they could claim up to £1,331 a year in benefits. The government department is responsible for taxes, as well as handing out certain financial support measures, among many other things.
It adds: "Only one person can get Child Benefit for a child, so you need to decide whether it’s better for you or the other parent to claim. Whoever claims will get National Insurance credits towards their State Pension. The Child Benefit rate went up in April, and claimants now receive £25.60 per week for an eldest or only child, and £16.95 per week for any subsequent children. Payments are made four-weekly.
