Rasmus Hojlund says he has been promised regular game time at Manchester United by Erik ten Hag, a pledge that made his mind up about a transfer.
The Italians had forked out £17million for his arrival from Austrian side Sturm Graz in 2022 and ended up receiving a fee that could rise to £72m a year later. Speaking to Ekstra Bladet ahead of Denmark’s Euro 2024 qualifier, he said: “I spoke to the coach up until the transfer. For me it was important to play football and if I had been told that I had to go to Manchester United to be a reserve for the rest of my days, I would never have gone there.”
