The victim's family said her home invasion murder had "shattered" their sense of safety.
One of the youths pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to 14 years detention in May.Emma Lovell, 41, was stabbed to death on the lawn outside her North Lakes home on Boxing Day, 2022.
"We made our home a place of love and protection ... the actions of you and your co-offender took away our sense of safety," Lovell said.Lovell said he had installed extra security cameras and a security door but his family still felt a psychological impact.Crown prosecutor David Nardone told Justice Copley the youth had 104 prior criminal charges on his record and he had committed offences while on community orders and probation.
"The burglary and involvement in assault was committed the evening after being released on bail from a watch house." Copley said the youth had committed offences primarily to obtain money to fund his substance abuse and had been influenced by others, but that could not excuse his offending.
