The horse racing industry has been rocked by a day of a devastation, after two horses died in the same race and another death followed about 45 minutes later. There were particularly distressing scenes when Abuffalosoldier collapsed just moments after winning the Holland Cooper Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Racecourse in the UK on Monday .
“As with all fatalities we will seek to understand the circumstances behind each incident as we strive to continue to reduce avoidable risk in our sport.” Kearns told Racing TV that Abuffalosoldier and Bangers And Cash were attended by vets “within seconds”. “In those situations of acute collapse there are some drugs we can administer, but if it is a true cardiovascular collapse, not a lot can be done,” he said.
