Despite coming into contact with thousands of people a day – in Australia’s worst coronavirus hot spots – doorknockers are being left with no protection.
Recent footage taken around Melbourne by a couple driving through the city’s hot spots showed a number of the workers not wearing masks.
In one exchange, the woman in the car asks a group of the Department of Health and Human Services workers what they’re doing.“The Victorian government wants us to let them know what are the conditions of the people, what are the symptoms … people are having and encouraging them to get the test.”Continuing on their drive, the couple find another group of healthcare workers and question where their masks are.“Did the government not give them to you?” the man asked.
