The Met Office has issued a warning for areas including Blackburn, Blackpool, Burnley Lancaster and Preston
Rain is set to batter much of Lancashire for the rest of today and tomorrow morning, as Met Office issue amber weather warning.
From midday today until midday tomorrow , heavy and persistent rain is set to hit the county, with flooding and disruption likely. Issued by the Met Office, the amber warning states fast-flowing or deep floodwater could cause danger to life. Spray and flooding are also likely, leading to difficult driving conditions and some road closures. Cancellations or delays to train and bus services and power cuts of businesses and homes could also happen over the next 24 hours too.The Met Office forecast for the region states: "An unsettled day with slow moving, heavy and persistent rain, which may lead to possible flooding and disruption. Heaviest rain to the south od the region. Turning breezy, especially around the coast.
The forecast for tonight reads: "Heavy rain continuing this evening, especially over the hills, turning lighter overnight and patchier by dawn. Breezy and staying rather mild. Minimum temperature 13 °C."
