Queensland Fire and Emergency Services confirmed the property losses and Superintendent Wayne Waltisbuhl said crews are working to access more properties to assess the damage.

"One of the problems that firefighters faced in this particular area is getting access into properties to do property protection," he said. "Access to the properties that were potentially damaged was our biggest issue yesterday, so a message to residents that live in bushland areas they need to make sure that they have good access for our trucks to get into their properties and defendable space around our assets so we can help defend them."The blaze is within containment lines and reinforcement crews are on the way, Superintendent Waltisbuhl said.
"There's an awful lot of work to do today. There's still a lot of active fire within those containment lines," he said.
