The House GOP has reviewed a batch of emails from Joe Biden’s time as vice president, but they reveal little about his interactions with his son Hunter.
In the request, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer alleged the documents would show extensive coordination between Joe and Hunter Biden in Ukraine, where Hunter Biden served on the board of a gas company, and damaging evidence that the then-vice president used his official perch to enrich his family.
“The National Archives has only produced 14 pages of what is expected to be thousands of pages if the Biden White House doesn’t try to withhold them from Congress,” said Jessica Collins, a spokeswoman for Comer. “It’s silly for anyone to try to draw conclusions from 14 pages of documents that the White House cleared to give to Congress, especially when it contains an email that opines on foreign nationals thinking Joe Biden is sexy.
Newly revealed information on a schedule from June 16, 2016, shows that Biden had a meeting with a Ukrainian official shortly after an appointment to have lunch with two of Hunter’s teenage daughters. The other two emails reviewed by the committee Thursday both involved Antony Blinken, who was then Biden’s national security adviser and is now secretary of state. One was an email from John Tefft, who was then the U.S. ambassador to Ukraine, that Blinken had forwarded to Joe Biden, as well as his sons Hunter and Beau. The email had been previously released with all of its contents redacted.
